CHRIS WILSON - MANAGING Director

Chris established McKenzie Group Planning (NSW) Pty Ltd in September 2010 before he re-branded the business to Willowtree Planning Pty Ltd in 2015. Chris is the Managing Director of Willowtree Planning and is responsible for the management of the planning businesses and technical operations in NSW, VIC and QLD. Chris has over 15 years’ experience in the Private and Public sectors as a Town Planner.

Chris operated in the capacity of the Private sector in Queensland in the early 2000’s before moving to NSW in 2003 to work in Public and Private sectors. Chris has worked in a range of different roles including, Special Projects Planner, Senior Planner, Team Leader, Manager, Director and as an Expert Witness in the NSW Land & Environment Court and the Victorian Civil and Administration Tribunal (VCAT) Chris also has experience in a diverse range of projects including a variety of State Significant Developments in NSW, Health Care, Residential, Mixed Use, Industrial, Commercial, Retail, Aged Care and Education developments.

ANDREW COWAN - DIRECTOR

Andrew joined Willowtree Planning as a Senior Associate in September 2015. Andrew is currently working in the capacity of Director at Willowtree Planning and is responsible for the delivery of projects, liaison with authorities and business development. Andrew has been involved in town planning for over 10 years, operating in Metropolitan Sydney and regional areas of NSW with involvement in large-scale Residential, Health, Industrial and Commercial Projects.

Andrew has acted as an expert witness in various Class 1 planning appeals in the Land & Environment Court of NSW. In 2012, Andrew completed a Master of Property Development at the University of Technology, Sydney and was awarded the Australian Property Institute Master Prize.

THOMAS COOK - director

Thomas joined Willowtree Planning as a Senior Planner in 2013. Thomas is currently working in the capacity of Director at Willowtree Planning and is responsible for a range of planning services including the delivery of projects, business development and liaison with relevant authorities. Thomas has over 10 years’ experience in the Private and Public sectors as a Town Planner, operating in urban and rural areas of NSW. Thomas operated in the capacity of the Public Sector before moving into the Private Sector in 2010 with his work covering most aspects of Urban Planning with extensive experience in large scale Residential, Urban Land Release, Mixed Use, Industrial and Commercial Developments as well as Strategic and Master Planning projects. Thomas also appears as an expert witness before The Land and Environment Court of NSW.

ASHLEIGH SMITH - ASSOCIATE

Ashleigh joined Willowtree Planning as a Senior Planner in February 2017. Ashleigh has 10 years planning experience in the Public and Private sector, across NSW and New York City, with involvement in large-scale Residential, Health, Infrastructure and Commercial Projects. Ashleigh has experience in a diverse range of projects including Rezoning and Development Approvals, Land Use and Policy Planning, Affordable Housing, Project Management and Public Consultation.

In 2010, Ashleigh completed a Bachelor of Planning at the University of New South Wales, graduating with First Class Honours. Ashleigh’s technical planning knowledge and Project Management skills have assisted in the delivery of a number of developments including Health, Education, Commercial, Residential and Industrial.

RACHEL CONDON - ASSOCIATE

Rachel joined Willowtree Planning as an Associate in May 2019. Rachel has 7 years planning experience in the public and private sector, across NSW and Ireland, with involvement in a number of sectors including residential, commercial, mixed-use and industrial development. Rachel has experience in a diverse range of projects including rezoning and development approvals, land use, affordable housing, project management and public consultation. Rachel’s academic and professional experience encompasses an extensive variety of statutory and strategic planning projects, obtained both from the public and private sector. Rachel’s technical planning knowledge and project management skills have assisted in the delivery of numerous developments in the relevant sectors outlined above.

JESSICA MILLER - SENIOR PLANNER

Jessica joined Willowtree Planning as a Senior Town Planner in January 2017. She is currently responsible for delivering projects, preparing planning approvals documentation, and liaising with planning authorities. Jessica has over six years’ experience preparing a range of statutory planning and environmental management deliverables to clients in the transport, mining, manufacturing, defence, telecommunications and fuels import/storage sectors. As an accredited Environmental Management Systems Auditor, she is also experienced at advising clients how to best manage their ongoing responsibilities in the post approvals context. Her statutory planning background includes authoring environmental impact statements and assisting to manage the approvals processes for complex infrastructure projects. Her qualifications in Law and previous experience as a Contracts Advisor for a large multinational firm mean she is able to advise on complex environment and planning law matters, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.

TRAVIS LYTHALL - SENIOR PLANNER

Travis joined Willowtree Planning in May 2018. Travis is currently working as a Senior Planner at Willowtree Planning and is comprehensively engaged in a diversified array of Planning aspects influenced by a variety of sectors and disciplines that are encompassed within the NSW Planning frameworks. Travis is a well-equipped and knowledgeable Town Planner, having ascertained cognitive knowledge backgrounds in his Bachelor of Science at the University of Newcastle. Travis’ academic and professional experience entails an extensive array of Statutory and Strategic Planning Projects, and other relevant Environmental and Geo-technical Science related disciplines, primarily analytical and field consultancy along with stakeholder engagement. Travis’ technical Planning knowledge and Project Management skills are attributed to the timely delivery of numerous developments in the Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Industrial, with a mixture of some areas of Residential, Commercial, Educational, Health and Government sectors alike.
